The CIA certification card is presented to climbers who have successfully completed a certain level of CIA climbing courses. With this card, climbers could use it as proof to show that they are eligible and competent to climb, belay or supervise others depending on the levels that they have completed.

Another purpose of the CIA certification card is to allow climbers to display prove of their climbing ability when they are travelling to countries all over the world. A CIA climber will be recognized for their abilities as what is displayed on their card.
